The Jaguar XJS grand tourer sold between 1975 and 1996 was available in coupe, convertible, and fixed profile convertible body styles. Initially named Jaguar XJ-S, the rear-wheel drive car was powered by an engine lineup that included powerhouse inline-six options, with gear changes managed by manual or automatic transmissions. In 1997, the model was replaced by the Jaguar XK8.
