Mud, rain, and snow can all diminish your visibility on the open road. How Do You Spot Failing Wipers?
Wiper blades do fail in time, though. You should plan on replacing them every six months, but you may need to substitute them sooner than that depending upon use and road conditions. If you notice streaking on the glass, hear a screeching sound, or spot the wipers skipping across the windshield, your blades need to be replaced. You'll also want to check the frames to make sure that they haven't broken.
